Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup/삼계탕) 

Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) is a hot, steaming delicious dish that features a small chicken stuffed with rice, ginseng, garlic, and jujube that is eaten to enhance the stamina in Korea.

You have to commit to eating a whole chicken all by yourself when you sit down for a bowl of samgyetang! And it is totally worth it!

Traditionally, Koreans eat this dish during the hottest days of summer as a way to keep up their energy and balance their body heat with the weather outside.

Koreans have a  saying : iyeolchiyeol 이열치열, that means to fight heat with heat. 

Fight the heat with heat. If it is hot outside, then you need to overcome it by eating a hot soup!

** Ingredients

Cornish hens, rice, ginseng roots, jujubes, garlic, green onions, salt, black pepper
Sesame sauce: soy sauce, sesame seed, black pepper, sesame oil
Sweet sour soy sauce: soy sauce, white vinegar, honey, onion, jalapeno

** Recipe

- Place the chicken in the pot

- Put the broth in the pot and add 500ML of water

- Boil it on the medium heat until for about 20 mins

- Add additional salt if needed
